No More Talk and Chalk, Technology and the Digital Divide Educating the Digital Natives -A New Book Offering

Posted on December 3, 2009 at 1:30am 0 Comments

The digital divide is still with us. Most people collect the ideas of the divide in old ways. Marc Prensky calls the groupings

digital natives and digital immigants. I add the digitally deficient to that group and the digital pioneers.

Later in a different blog I will discuss the digital, content, infrastructure and cultural divides.

We often forget that htere are many who haven't got a clue as to the world of the Internet. Many adolescents with access

They Left No Child Behind in their Quest to Teach

Posted on November 28, 2009 at 1:46am 0 Comments

You never hear me fuss about religious schools, or charter schools, or

most types of schools I have even taught in DODDS Schools and in a

school for dropouts. Teaching is sometimes a challenge but the nuns who

taught me were up to every challenge. So, that is one of the reasons I get fired up

when people like Michelle Rhee make fun of older teachers and do not realize that

Cloud Computing and all of that Jazz ( Is Education being thought of?)

Posted on October 11, 2009 at 3:24am 0 Comments

I love clouds.. my first images of them are from the Charlie Brown cartoons.. I think Lucy is lying on her back in a field talking about the shapes of the cloud.. Anyway , it is what I think of first when one says clouds. Then having taken lots and lots of

trips, I think of looking at clouds out of an airplane window. Or maybe thinking of storm clouds as they form and go dark. But clouds for computing? And what's that song... fragments of it float through my mind..

There is a… Continue
